• Die produzierende Industrie unterliegt einem ständigen Wandel. Wettbewerbsdruck und sich ändernde Kundenbedürfnisse veranlassen immer mehr Unternehmen dazu, digitale Geschäftsmodelle anzubieten. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts ‚SMART‘ (Smart Service Maturity Assessment and Readiness Index for Transferring Companies to successful Smart Service Providers) arbeitete das FIR an der RWTH Aachen zusammen mit einem Konsortium, das in der Vergangenheit bereits den bekannten „Industrie 4.0 Maturity 4.0 Index“ unter dem Dach der acatech entwickelt hat. Es sollte ein webbasiertes Tool entstanden, das es Unternehmen ermöglicht, ihren aktuellen Stand bezüglich Smart Services zu allokieren und Handlungsempfehlungen für die Weiterentwicklung zu erhalten. Ein von Expert:innen in der Praxis validierter Frage-Antwort-Katalog ermöglicht Unternehmen verschiedenster Branchen eine Standortbestimmung und gibt Orientierungshilfen bei der Transformation in Richtung Smart Services. Ziel des Projekts ‚SMART‘ war es, produzierenden Unternehmen das bislang nicht genutzte Potenzial von Smart Services aufzuzeigen und eine Plattform für den Transformationsprozess zu bieten. Um diese Aufgabe zu erfüllen und den Projekterfolg zu gewährleisten, kooperierte das FIR mit vier Forschungspartnern, die Expertise in einem jeweiligen Teilgebiet von Smart Services mitbringen.
• The manufacturing industry is subject to constant change. Competitive pressures and changing customer needs are driving more and more companies to offer digital business models. As part of the research project SMART (Smart Service Maturity Assessment and Readiness Index for Transferring Companies to Successful Smart Service Providers), FIR at RWTH Aachen University was working together with a consortium that has already developed the well-known “Industrie 4.0 Maturity Index” under the umbrella of acatech, the National Academy of Science and Engineering. A web-based tool was to be developed that will enable companies to determine their current status with regard to Smart Services and receive recommendations for further development. A question-and-answer catalog validated in practice by experts will enable companies from a wide range of industries to determine where they stand and provide guidance on their transformation towards becoming a provider of Smart Services. The aim of the SMART project was to familiarize manufacturing companies with the hitherto untapped potential of Smart Services and to provide a platform to facilitate the transformation process. To fulfill this task and ensure the success of the project, FIR is collaborating with four research partners who bring in their expertise in various areas of Smart Services.
